What does the error 'There was a database problem' mean

If you see the error message There was a database problem when trying to access a members page or the Sitelok control panel its usually because one of the Mysql database settings in slconfig.php is not correct or the Mysql user does not have permission to access the database. Check that the settings match the database settings in your hosting control panel.
