I am seeing the error - Could not contact whois server
If you are seeing the error message 'Could not contact whois server' this usually means that your server is blocking access to the whois server.Most whois servers use port 43 so make sure that your hosting company is not blocking PHP from accessing port 43. A small number of other whois server use port 4343 and port 80 so it is worth checking they are not blocked as well.
